He didn’t say it back

Ok. We’ve got to break this down for you to process it. It is really just awful when someone doesn’t say it back. It is, and I’m not here to help you pretend otherwise. I feel your pain. Everyone reading this blog feels your pain. That said, you have a choice to make. He may not be ready to say it just yet, and didn’t want to say it just to say it. Integrity is a quality worth waiting for. If you can force yourself to go on, he may say it when he’s ready. It’s not like he doesn’t know the pressure is on. He heard you say it….he knows what’s expected of him. Attempt to be patient and see how things go. If you have to give yourself a timeline, then do it. Should you talk to him about it? Definitely not now. Like I said, he knows what’s expected of him. There will be a time when you decide that if he doesn’t love you, well then it’s time to move on. That’s the time to talk. If you just walk, you’ll never know and will probably suffer much more by handling it like this.

Now, as for the embarrassment factor, I really do understand how you feel. Here’s the thing though, telling someone you love them is one of the sweetest most thoughtful things you can do- literally. Try to reframe your memory of the situation. You did something so kind, so good. You should never feel bad about telling someone you love them. There are lots of things to regret in life, but telling someone you love them should never be on that list. So get up, dust yourself off, keep in mind you did a good thing, and move forward.

Love Fiercely!
