The Loving Volunteer

It’s been said before, but saying it again doesn’t hurt. Volunteering is a great way for singles to meet. It might not connect you directly to a new love, but it may round out your friend circle and therein lies a superior source of potential mates.

Realistically, you should volunteer with an organization that you have true interest in. There might be more babes working the green movement (think Co-Op or Earth Day), but if living green isn’t your thing you probably won’t get very far. If you are stuck on where to start, try looking at the big picture. You can view a list opportunities in your area on VolunteerMatch.org They make it easy by allowing you to search your area via zip code and interest. At present they have over 46 thousand organizations to choose from. Thinking outside the box is useful as well. If you feel like you just can’t fit it in, and you hate to loose out on your gym time, consider running a 5K or working with kids at your local recreation center. Basketball anyone? Genuinely enjoying yourself and feeling good that you’re helping make a difference will translate into a much more attractive you and new friends will follow.
